If you are planning a career in any medical field and would like to gain work experience with a difference, a two week medical work shadowing experience offers you the chance to see the job from the inside. It may be the difference that makes your university application form stand out of the crowd and gives you something to talk about at that all-important interview.

Get your foot in the door for a career that you really want and vastly improve your chances of making it. Our Two Week work-experience placements are aiming at giving you that something special to put in your UCAS form.

During the two weeks you will visit 3 to 4 best specialist hospitals with state of the art equipment and facilities. You will be shadow consultants and have the opportunity to ask them questions and observe operations. Additionally you have the option to visit rural clinics where mobile doctors treat some of the poorest communities. You will also see some state run hospitals where the facilities are low in cash strapped wards but the standard of care is high with dedicated doctors doing their best to ease the pain of the patients. You will get valuable experience containing a mixture of hands on and observational work, getting the view the job from inside.

You should be prepared to come face to face with some quite stark medical conditions, which you may not be allowed to see in the UK. This will be an opportunity to obtain real clinical experience with direct patient contact. Placements will be as realistic to normal working life as possible. We focus on prospective medical students and offer a superior service and work-experience placement specially designed for students.

Work-Experience for medical students

Placements in Delhi can be particularly beneficial to students of medicine in their electives. You can choose to work within the private sector and your work is likely to vary. It may take you into all departments such as Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Pathology, Surgery, burns unit, ICU, Physiotherapy, X-ray, and even the mortuary. The hospitals that we work with are very busy with so you will probably be worked very hard in most areas. You will be expected to add value where you can and will be allowed to shadow specialists and ask questions.

The experience in India will enable you to broaden your medical experience in a developing country and see the dedication of the local doctors to make their patients better despite fewer facilities and equipment.
